Phyllis J. Jones

Phyllis J. Jones, 93, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away July 12, 2023 at Riverview Nursing Home in Oak Harbor, Ohio surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy illness. She was born on December 27, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio to Gerald and Bernice Flynn. She met and married the love of her life, Alvy “Bud” Jones in Angola, Indiana on August 2, 1948, and he preceded her in death on July 15, 2017.

She was a very caring lady. She loved everyone she met and everyone loved her. If you asked her if she wanted anything, it was always “family”. Her family was her greatest pride and joy! She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Jeffery of Port Clinton, Jean (Michael) Deis of Port Clinton, and Jeri (Bill) Baker of Fremont. She had three granddaughters: Andrea (Chad) Halstead from Indianapolis, Indiana, Tiffany (Trey) Tassin from Little Rock, Arkansas, and Rachel (Matt) Lewis from Tecumseh, Michigan; nine great-grandchildren, Carsen, Cooper, Amelia, Nora, Barrett, Lily, Elijah, Bre, and Milo. She is also survived by her sister, Joyce Anderson from Dublin, Ohio and two sister in laws, Beverly Flynn and Maria Pilar Flynn from Port Clinton. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and her “best friend” Susan Royster of Oak Harbor, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers, John “Jack” Flynn and Gerald E. Flynn.

Visitation will be held at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio on Monday, July 17, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Additional visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 9-9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison Street, Port Clinton, with Father Jonathan Wight officiating. Burial will follow at Roose Cemetery in Oak Harbor.
