Phyllis Elaine (Buckles) Henry (94) of Gilbert, AZ, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. She was born in Youngstown, OH on September 1, 1929 to Horace and Florence (Cowles) Buckles. She was married in Youngstown on June 7, 1952 to Calvin D. Henry of Perrysburg, OH.


Phyllis graduated from Bluffton College with a degree in Education in 1950. She taught 7th and 8th grade English and Ohio History at Lake School District for 30 years before retiring in 1984. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Perrysburg.


Calvin, her husband of 58 years, passed away in 2011. Phyllis is survived by son, Larry J. (wife, Dolores) Henry of Cypress, TX; daughter, Marilyn K. (husband, Tommie) Austin of Gilbert, AZ. and granddaughter, Allison P. (husband, Eric) King of New York, New York.


As per her wishes immediate family members will spread her ashes on Lake Erie. Friends and family will be received on Friday, July 12, 2022 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm with Remembrance Service starting at 2:00 pm at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home located at 222 E. South Boundary St, Perrysburg OH. 43551.
