Phyllis Garn

Phyllis E. (Keesecker) Garn, 88, of Oak Harbor, OH passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, OH. She was born on June 25, 1936 in DeGraff, OH to John and Viola Belle (Huber) Keesecker. She graduated from Gibsonburg High School. On June 26, 1954 in Gibsonburg, OH she married Ivan Garn, and they were married for 66 years before Ivan preceded her in death on October 28, 2020. Phyllis previously worked as the Postmaster for several area U.S. Post Offices, as a supervisor at the Super Kmart in Fremont, and as the manager for The Oakwood Manor Apartments in Oak Harbor.

Phyllis was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, a member of the Concerned Citizens of Oak Harbor Board in Oakwood Manor, the Ottawa Farm Bureau, and the Farmer’s Union. She enjoyed cooking and traveling with her husband Ivan. Phyllis always found joy in helping and taking care of her senior citizens.

Phyllis is survived by children, Mary (James) Tabbert, Kevin Garn, and Michael (Kelly) Garn; grandchildren, Justin Tabbert, Emily (Lee) Carolus, Ashley Tabbert, Monica Tabbert, Matthew Garn, Isaiah Garn, Zachary Garn, Andrew and Angela Kenmir, great grandchildren, Jonah, Micah, Lincoln, Josiah, Annabelle, Kenton, Haven, Harper, Melody, Timothy, Eleanor, Micah, Braydeon, and Abby; and siblings, Gerald Keesecker and Noreta Weigman. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation for Phyllis will be Friday, September 13, 2024 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor, OH. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Cheryl Wessel and Pastor Mike Garn at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 14, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 9789 W. Oak Harbor SE Rd., Oak Harbor, OH with burial to follow in West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg, OH. Memorial contributions in memory of Phyllis may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor.
