Phyllis Garn

Phyllis R. Garn long time resident of Maumee, died Wednesday December 19, 2012 at St. Vincents Mercy Hospital. She was born on March 1, 1927 in Maumee to Clifford and Hazel Davis Johnson. Phyllis married Kenneth N Garn on August 12, 1950. She graduated from Swanton High School in 1946 as an honor student and valedictorian and worked for the Shell Oil Company on Summit Street from 1946 to 1955. Phyllis played the piano and accordion very well and also won a radio contest in Findlay, Ohio in 1945. She is survived by her son Kenneth N.Diane Garn Jr., daughter, Patricia A Phillips and fiance, Perry Blythe, grandchildren, Autumn Phillips, Benjamin, Andrew, and Elizabeth Garn, sister, Marjorie J. Johnston, brother, James H Joann Johnson, and sister-in-law, Delores Turski. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, parents, brothers, Harold, Raymond, and Donald, and sister, Helen. Visitation for Phyllis will be on Thursday December 27, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio 43537. Funeral services will be on Friday December 28, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will be in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
