Phyllis Mary (Rogowski) Duquette, born on July 5, 1937, to Walter and Natalie Rogowski, passed away January 3, 2025. Phyllis was an only child who cherished her family deeply.
She married the love of her life, Earl Duquette, and they shared 46 wonderful years together until his passing on May 9, 2005. Their bond was strengthened by their shared passion for bowling. Phyllis was an active member of the Toledo Blade Queens Traveling League.
Phyllis had a fulfilling career, starting as an accountant at Foodtown in Maumee and later becoming a supervisor in the garage. She continued her professional journey at Lock-it-up Storage, where she worked until her retirement on her 75th birthday in 2012.
Phyllis had a zest for life and enjoyed traveling across the United States with her family. Later, she and Earl found joy in visiting casinos together and trying their luck at the slot machines. She was also an avid sewer and a voracious reader, finding peace and happiness in these hobbies.
Phyllis's warmth, dedication, and love for her family and friends will be deeply missed. She leaves behind a legacy of love, adventure, and cherished memories.
She is survived by her four children and two stepchildren, Darla Dudley, David Duquette (Tina), Paula Escareno (Adrian), Pam Kowalka, James Duquette and Judi Lunsford; grandchildren, Stephanie (Kurt) Reneau, Donald (Jill) Dudley, David Duquette Jr., Danielle (Jake) Drawe, Adrianna (Manuel) Martinez, Christopher (Alexa) Escareno, Victoria Escareno (Kevin Wood), Angelica Escareno, Natalie Kowalka, and Elizabeth Kowalka; great-grandchildren, Veronika Dudley, Raina Dudley, Jacob Drawe, Jaylin Drawe, David Duquette III “DJ”, Justice Dudley, Elijah Dudley, Abigail Dudley, Ezra Dudley, Callen Dudley, Ariella Wood, Everett Wood, Antonio Martinez, Oliver Wood, Leo Martinez; and many step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit on January 9, 2025, from 4-7 pm at Walker Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 3500 Navarre Ave. The Funeral Service will be January 10, 2025, at 10 am in the funeral home. Phyllis will be laid to rest in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
