Phyllis M. Detwiler (GeeGee) of Maumee, OH., passed away on May 29, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. She was born in West Liberty, OH. on December 1, 1933 to the late George and Ruth Williams. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Daniel F; daughter, Tammy Ann and infant brother, George. She graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 1952, receiving her State Degree in FHA in that year. Phyllis worked at St. Lukes Hospital, retiring after 21 years. She was a member of Monclova Road Baptist Church for 30 plus years, and was very active serving her Lord. Phyllis loved people and children. She had Adoptive Grandchildren at the church that called her Grandma Phyllis. She was known for her infectious laugh and loved working in her yard with the flowers. Phyllis had a very green thumb. She also loved cooking, baking, sewing, crafting canning and writing poetry about her friends and family(where she had 5 of her poems published.) Phyllis is survived by her son, Daniel A. (Sandee); grandchildren, Nikki Carey and Jason (Amy) Loch; great grandchildren, Jayson, Josh(Jenna), Natalie, Jackson, Justyn Carey and Teagan and Graham Loch; great great grandchild, Braelyn Marie Carey; sisters, Mary Columber and Janet Beelman and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday, June 2, 2017 in the funeral home. Interment will be in Wakeman Cemetery, Watervillle, Ohio.
