Phyllis Ann Bird

August 29, 1938 — March 16, 2015

Phyllis A. Bird of Waterville, Ohio went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a long and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family.  She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend, she was loved by so many. She leaves behind her loving husband of 37 years H. James Bird.  Phyllis had 6 children: Anthony of Phoenix, AZ; Rina (Sam) of Defiance, OH; James of Fairfax, VA; Danah (Dave) of Wadsworth, OH; Chris (Marc) of Washington D.C. and Jeff (Karen) of Lebanon, OH.  Also left behind are Monty and Angie of Holland, OH.  She had 19 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Also surviving are sister, Molly and brother, Carter (Thomaseah) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Benjamin, Mac and Sam; sisters, Charlotte and Zona and son-in-law, Dave. Phyllis was a homemaker and her biggest passion was cooking for her family and friends.  Her home was always open to others and she was such a mother figure that many called her Mother.  Phyllis had a motto of the more the merrier.  She was a lady of great faith. Also left behind are family/best friends Gloria Addington of Jackson, OH and Ruth Devivo of New York, NY. Her family would like to send a special thanks to Hospice of Northwest Ohio - Perrysburg. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 104 Broadway Street, Maumee, OH.  Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Road, Perrysburg, OH 43551. Arrangements by Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Homes, Maumee, Ohio.
