Phillip E. Randall

Phil entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 5:25pm Saturday, December 18, 2015. Phil led a very active life as a Christian, a Sunday School Superintendant, Church Song Leader and choir member, a long career in rail traffic sales having started out with the Erie Lackawanna in Elmira, NY and continuing with Conrail, and in his retirement years to the present as a consultant. Phil also was an avid model railroader and collector of American Flyer “S” gauge model trains having continued a 100+ year tradition, passed down from his grandfather, of building a new model train platform every Christmas to the pleasure of family and friends. Phil was a 28 year resident of Centennial Farms of Sylvania, Ohio but formerly lived in Cincinnati; Chicago; Charleston, WV; Scranton, PA; Lake Hopatcong, NJ; Easton, PA; Elmira, NY; and originally from Corning, NY; where he was born. His family, parents, aunts, and uncles, were all involved in the operations of Eldridge Amusement Park, Elmira, NY and more specifically the historical carousel that has been restored in recent years. He also served in the U. S. Army as a staff sergeant earning a sharpshooter marksmanship badge. Phil was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Gloria in 2010. He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Boyd and husband Mark of Charleston, WV; son Phillip and wife Suzette of Kokomo, IN; son Steven and wife Tammy of Deerfield Beach, FL; son Paul and wife Tammy of Palm Coast, FL; son Mark, of Sylvania, OH. He has 8 grandchildren: Marie Amy Boyd; Jessica, Jennifer Hannah Randall; and Bentley, Laura, and Steven Randall. Visitation will be from 4pm to 6pm, with a memorial service to follow on Monday, December 21 at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. Toledo, OH and interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira, NY. Pastor Roger Blanchard, of Lakeland Baptist, Lake Villa, Ill and Pastor Dan Adams, of Faith Baptist Church, Lambertville, MI will officiate. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church 6245 Whiteford Center Rd. Lambertville, MI 48144.
