Phillip W. Mattox, 72, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Monday, September 5, 2016 at his home. Phil was born September 20, 1943 in Buffalo, WV, the son of Arthur Edward Mattox and Nettie Belle (Priddy) Mattox. On August 11, 1989 he married Donna Murrell, and she survives. Phil was a veteran of the National Guard for 6 years. He was a member of the Port Clinton Bible Methodist Church. Phil was retired from Fenner Dunlop in 2014. Most days Phil would be found in his shop. Watching sports or shooting the bull with his friends. A “jack-of-all-trades”, Phil enjoyed making repairs and household maintenance. If you needed a tool, he had the right one for the job. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Surviving are his wife, daughters: Juleah (Tom) Clunk, Jacqueline (Aaron) Brown, son: Jerry (Amy) Murrell; brother: Roger (Nancy) Mattox; Sisters: Brenda (Paul) Bolyard, JoAnna Russell 10 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren, many aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews and cousins. Phil is preceded in death by his parents; Paternal Grandparents: Charles & Cora Mattox; Maternal Grandparents: Pearl & Gae Priddy; sister: Donna (Mattox) Joseph; brother: Larry Mattox and brother-in-law: Danny Russell. Friends may call from 11:00 – 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. The funeral will take place at 1:00P.M., at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Catawba Island Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Phil may be given to the family.
