Phillip Burton

Phillip Phil Burton, age 63, of Perrysburg, Ohio formerly of Columbus, Ohio passed away on Monday, August 8, 2011, at St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center. He was born on August 23, 1947, to Paul J. and Dorothy A. Arnold Burton. Phil earned his masters degree in accounting from Xavier University. He was employed at Style Crest Products in Fremont, Ohio for 20 years as a Controller and Treasurer. His memberships included the Corvette Club, Columbus Maennerchor and St. Paul Lutheran Church, Haskins, Ohio. Phil was on the board of the Wood County Humane Society. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He is survived by his brothers, Tom Marion Burton, Paul James Juanita Burton; former wife of 22 years, Marianne K. Burton; his faithful canine companion, Maddie; nieces and nephews, Deb Gary Evans, Sue Tom ODonnell Burton, Tommy Burton and Chris Andrea Burton. Also surviving are many great nieces and nephews, lifelong friends and co-workers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister- in law, Dottie Burton and canine companions, Burt and Mathaser. Family and friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St, Maumee, Ohio on Thursday, August 11, 2011 from 4-8 pm. Visitation will continue at the Maeder-Quint-Tiberi Funeral Home 1068 S. High St., Columbus, Ohio, on Friday, from 4-8 pm where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Autism Foundation or the Wood County Humane Society.
