Phillip S Brondes Sr , 90, of Perrysburg, Ohi o went home peacefully surrounded by his family , to be with his Lord and Savi or Jesus Christ, on Tuesday January 1 1th. He was born February 7 , 1931 in T oledo Oh i o , to Donald and Helen Brondes . He proudly served our country in the US Navy and went on to study at Duke Un i versit y .
I n 195 4 , he marr i ed the l ove of his l if e , MaryAnn Dama of Y oungstown Oh i o, the mot h er of h i s two ch i l dren, Phillip Jr and Elizabeth Ann " Beth". I n 195 6 , Phillip joined his brother Don i n the family automotive business . T ogethe r , Brother Don and Brother Phil put Brondes Ford on the map , with their legendary TV commercials that are still remembered by many to this day.
Phillip and MaryAnn u l timately retired to Flori da and enjoyed sailing, tennis , golf and fishing with family and good fr i end s . After be i ng widowed for a number of year s , Phillip was fortunate to meet Joyce (Fel s) Fi sher Zammit, a loving and trusted companion. They married in 2004, and spent many happy years in Key Largo, Flori da at the Ocean Reef Club.
He w i l l be remembered as a man of fa i t h , a l ov i ng husband , fathe r , grandfathe r , great grandfather, loyal friend , business leader and mentor.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wives, his daughter , his brother , and many close friends . He i s survived by his son Phil Brondes Jr (Michelle) grandsons Connor Brondes and Christian Sagert (Danielle ) , daughter-in-la w , friend and confidant Lisa Brondes, niece, Shelly Brondes Wiemer (Jan), Joyce ' s children Steven Fisher , Julie Fishe r , and Tracy Salla h , their ch i l dren , their grandchildren , and not to be forgotten , his dog Picasso .
The family woul d like to thank Beth Dunlap , Barb Katakis and all the caregivers at Mercy Health Perrysburg, Ki ngston Perrysburg and Kingston Syl vania RPU. May God Bl ess you all.
A memor i al service w i ll be held August 11, 2022 at Cedar Creek Church, 29129 Lime City Road, Perrysbur g , Ohio 43551 at 1 1 a.m. A luncheon will immediately be following the memorial service at Belmont Country Club, 29601 Bates Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, Perrysburg (419-874-3133).
