Phillip Richard Anderson was born on Sept 23, 1956, to Richard and Evia Anderson, in Oregon Ohio. He was one of 3 boys, older brother Paul and younger brother Bob. Phil and Alice were married in Dec. of 1980 and just celebrated their 40th anniversary. He is remembered by his wife, Alice, and children Brian (Deidre Anderson), Alison (Aaron) Rumpf & Lauren (Pat)Gochenour. He was a wonderful Papa to his grandchildren: Luke, Ellie, Dean, Jack, Layla, and Roman. They will always look for him in Papa’s chair. Phil had a long career with TARTA. He started working at TARTA at the age of 17, (after he graduated from Roy C. Start High school)., where he worked 32 years in the Maintenance Dept While working full time for TARTA, he began taking classes through H&R Block and became a senior Tax Preparer. He completed more than 25 years. With H & R block and was looking toward another year of serving many returning clients. Phil was a hard worker who rarely missed work and was dedicated to being a good co-worker and dedicated tax preparer who always helped his clients. Phil Loved many sports and enjoyed watching his kids in all of their activities while in the Maumee Schools. He served for several years as a member of the pit crew for the marching band and coached several years of Maumee little league baseball. He loved football and he especially looked forward to making his favorite Chain Gang chili for the Ohio State Football games. Our favorite Saturday afternoons will be remembered as fun days with friends and family watching football and having chili & hot dogs.… (especially when Ohio State played Michigan) Phil loved sports but his favorite activity was fishing, especially fishing at our long-time vacation spot in Red Bay, Ontario. Evergreen Resort was the yearly vacation destination for over 40 years for the Anderson family. We always went in July, but the talking & planning for the trip started in January. The family spent the first 6 months of the year anticipating a fantastic week of fishing, boating, eating, hiking, swimming, and lots of games of Euchre. Many of our family memories include fishing with dad/papa, boating with dad/papa and the family time at Evergreen. Phil was also a lover of Crab legs, Chile dogs, Perch, Gingersnaps, Blueberry delight and His Mom’s spaghetti and Meatballs. He always had a favorite place to get his favorite food. Ex. Tony Pacos, French Quarter’s seafood buffet, the Hollywood Casino, Ahmed’s steak house. Phil was a quiet guy who loved his family and friends. He was always taking care of the details for all of us. We will remember him as a loving husband, father, papa, and friend. We will remember his commitment to always being on time (you were only on time if you were 15 minutes early) road trip where you could only stop for gas and …potty, favorite foods, remembering every card you played in Euchre and teaching us all about fishing. Family and friends are invited to a celebration service for Phil Anderson on Friday October 15 at Calvary church. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the service at 11:00. Lunch in the church atrium will follow the service.
