Philip C. “Phil” Neitz, 73, of Rossford, Ohio, passed away on September 20, 2025, in the care of Mercy Health – Perrysburg Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born May 2, 1952, to Robert and Emma (Wentland) Neitz, Phil graduated from Rossford High School in 1970. He attended Ohio University before earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo. He spent his career as a bartender at several area country clubs.
A devoted Cleveland sports fan, Phil especially loved baseball and football. He served as a longtime scorekeeper for Sylvania Southview girls basketball and enjoyed word puzzles, game shows, and reading mystery novels. He was a faithful member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and lovingly cared for his mother in her later years. Phil cherished family gatherings, especially Christmas and Easter, and had a special bond with his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by siblings Robert Neitz, Donald (Christina) Neitz, and Lauryl Mitchell; aunt, Emily Neitz; brother-in-law, Glynn Steinke; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Emma Neitz; sister, Cheryl Steinke; and brother-in-law, Kevin Mitchell.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 3, 2025, from 4–7 p.m. at Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, 830 Lime City Rd, Rossford. Funeral services will take place Saturday, October 4, at 11 a.m., with an hour of visitation prior, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 106 W. Plumer St, Toledo.
