Philip James Hechinger

September 18, 1940 — June 27, 2010

Philip James Hechinger, age 69, of Toledo, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2010 passed away at Kingston Care Center of Sylvania. He was born on September 18, 1940 in Toledo to Paul and Elsie Osborne Hechinger. Phil graduated from Rogers High School and went on to work with his father in the bakery industry working at Main Bakery in Adrian. He later worked at a number of bakeries in the Toledo Area retiring from Wixey Bakery in South Toledo. He was a Boy Scout Leader of Troops #3 and #24, something he was very passionate about. Phil helped his son earn his Eagle Scout Award. He was a member of the Heritage Church of God. He enjoyed ministering in nursing homes and with the elderly. He loved to bowl and loved St. Bernards. Phil was a wonderful father and proud grandfather and he and his wife, Nancy, just celebrated 48 years of marriage. Philip is survived by wife, Nancy; son, David Sharon Hechinger; daughter, Diane Silver; grandson, Josh Silver; granddaughter, Kelsie Silver; and sister, Elaine Bernie Kujawa.
