Philip G. Conner

Philip Conner, 79, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, OH after a two week battle from complications of double pneumonia while his adoring wife of 58 years held vigil. Philip was born on November 14, 1933 in Elmore, OH, the son of Leta Weis and Glenn Conner. On December 19, 1954 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton, he married Tessie Prusik and she survives. Philip proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy Air Force from 1953-1956 serving in Hawaii and Japan. He retired from NASA-Plumbrook, where he worked with data accusitions on the Atlas missile. Philip was an avid sailor, gardener and loved to build and fly model airplanes. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1610, David W. Leonard Aerie #2295, V.F.W. Homer D. Gardner Post #2480, American Legion Post #113, Elks Lodge #1718, Oak Harbor Conservation Club and the Liberty Aviation Museum. Survivors include: Wife: Tessie Prusik; Brother: Francis Conner; Daughters: Laura Conner of Scottsdale, AZ, Victoria David Mihal of Dunlap, CA and Karyn Tom Hanley of Westerville, OH; Grandchildren: Dawn Houghtaling, Sarah David McKoy, Morgan Mihal, Cassidy Mihal, Drew Philip Hanley, Wyatt Thomas Hanley and Reece Joseph Hanley; 3 Great-Grandchildren and numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends. Philip was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Gordon, Robert and Lowell. Family will receive friends from 10-11:00AM, Saturday, December 01, 2012 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, OH, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH, with military graveside services being held. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Philip may be given to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
