Philip David Chesher, of Illinois, passed away on April 3, 2021. He was born in Toledo, Ohio to Clifford and helen (Brock) Chesher and grew up on a farm. He graduated from Woodward High School in 1957 where he played football for 3 years. After high school, he went to Alaska to work on the railroad before joining the Army and serving as a medic in Germany. He married Jacqueline Milbourn in 1965. Philip then moved to Chicago where he worked for the Chicago Transit Authority first as a bus driver and later as a mechanic. He loved working as a bus driver and would often tell stories of all the interesting people he would meet. He loved people and he always was willing to start a conversation with anyone. He retired after 25 years. He is survived by his children, David, Amy, Nathan, Rachel, Stephanie and Benjamin; grandchildren, Alexander, Megan, Victoria, Joseph, David, Logan, Elizabeth, and Skylee; and great grand-daughter, Aubrey, and brothers Danny, Sammy, sister Linda. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Helen; brothers, Paul, and Hubert (killed in WWII); sisters, Lois and Eunice. Friends will be received on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Bible Chapel, 3740 W. Alexis, Toledo, Ohio 43623, where a Memorial Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial is private.
