Peter N. Temesy-Armos, Md

May 15, 1944 — May 20, 2025

Peter Nicholas Temesy-Armos, M.D. was the son of Jenő and Eleonora (Nora) Temesy-Armos. He was born in Hungary in 1944. He emigrated to the United States at the age of 7, with his parents and sister, Judith. He considered this journey (by boat) one of the great adventures of his life. His family relocated to Cleveland, Ohio, where he had a wonderful childhood, but throughout his life he also maintained a strong pride in his Hungarian ancestry.

Peter married his beloved wife, Linda, in 1975, and the pair created a lovely family of two daughters, who adored him, Laura and Julie. Laura gave him and Linda two beautiful grandsons, Giovanni (John) and Luca. He was so very proud of his family, who provided him with great joy and pleasure.

Peter graduated from Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1971. Upon graduation, Pete did research and further studies at Georgetown, Emory, and Columbia Universities.

He began his career as an academic doctor, specializing in Cardiovascular Medicine in 1978, at Medical College of Ohio, which evolved into the University of Toledo Medical Center. Pete's passion was getting to know his patients and working with them in his healing and compassionate manner. Pete was a kind, gentle soul and he demonstrated this with family, friends, and his patients.

He also enjoyed teaching doctors-in-training and continued learning from his colleagues, whom he held in high esteem.

Pete was a lifelong learner. He was an avid reader and an enthusiastic listener of music, as well as the "Great Courses". But most of all, he loved to travel. Many great trips were taken with his family, along with lots of wonderful European adventures with good friends Judy and Joe.

Pete loved animals and could often be seen spending time with his best four-legged friend and loving companion, Penny.

Peter is survived by his wife, Linda; two daughters, Laura and Julie; two grandsons, Giovanni (John) and Luca; his sister, Judith; his nieces and nephews, and many friends.

The Temesy-Armos family want to thank the very special staff at Story Point Memory Care Unit for their compassionate, loving care given to Pete.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral service at this time. There will be an informal gathering of his family to celebrate his life, held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society (https://toledohumane.org/) or the American Heart Association (https://www.heart.org/en/).
