Peggy Joan Swisher

Peggy J. Swisher, 93, of Elmore, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2022, at Countryside Manor, in Fremont, Ohio, where she had been a resident.  Peggy was born in Central Station, West Virginia to Oscar G. and Madge (Miller) Willis, on October 27, 1928.  She stayed in West Virginia until she met and married Edsel E. Swisher, in Clarksburg, WV, on October 27, 1951.

A few years after they were married, Peggy and Edsel, who worked for Roadway Express Trucking, was transferred to Canton, Ohio, and in 1975 to Elmore, Ohio, where they have been ever since.  Peggy enjoyed her life being at home, focusing on taking care of her family, tending her flower gardens full of roses, and cooking delicious meals. Edsel passed away on September 20, 2018.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Lisa J. Swisher, son, Butch (Sue) Swisher, grandchildren, Travis (Jessica), Brannan (Tessa), Edsel (McKenzie), and Corey Swisher, great grandchildren, Sadie, Gabriel, Makalie, Marcus, and Colby Swisher, and six great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Mark Swisher, and sisters, Margaret Smith, June Welch, Donna Jean Reed, and Patty Hilverding.
