Peggy Jean Gray, age 83, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018 at St. Clare Commons in Perrysburg. The daughter of Rollo and Ersa McClanahan, she was born May 19, 1935 in Birmingham, AL. She worked for Dr. Roberts a local Ophthalmologist and later for Toledo Hospital. Peggy was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for over 40 years where she was very active with womens bible study, Sunday School and Prison Ministry Program. She truly enjoyed going to church and thought of them like family. She was also a talented painter and was a member Bedford Artists club where served in several officer positions. Peggy was community volunteer for the Lions Den. She loved to travel, especially with her church friends on mission trips. Peggy will be remembered for her generosity, love for the Lord and being a wonderful mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children; Kathy (John) Grainger, Marty (Jill) Gray, James Gray, Sr. grandchildren; Jennifer (Nicholas) Schell, Ashley (Mark II) Abramczyk, Joshua Gray, James (Summer) Gray, Jr., Anastacia Gray, Annalyssia Gray; 14 great grandchildren; sister, June King and sister-in-law, Fran McClanahan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; son, Dennis Gray; brother, Robert McClanahan; daughter-in-law, Stacie Gray Friends may visit the family on Monday from 2-8 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd) where services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, Great Lakes Caring Hospice or Alzheimer Association.
