He bravely fought and accepted cancer just as he lived his life… with determination, grace, focus on family and kindness toward all. Surrounded by his loving family, Pedro Segundo Lujan Davila, 58, quietly departed this life in the arms of his wife on Friday, November 12, 2021 at their home in Toledo, Ohio after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Pedro was born on December 4, 1962, in Cabimas, Venezuela to the union of Pedro R. and Maria (Davila) Lujan. Arriving in the United States in 1982 at the age of 19, he began his collegiate career. Pedro graduated from the then Michael J. Owens Technical College in 1985 with his first Associate Degree in Engineering Technology with a major in Electronics. It is during this time that he met his wife. Although Pedro graduated from Owens a year before Krista, he returned to the states in 1986 for her graduation and the two became engaged. In 1987, Pedro was united in holy matrimony to Krista Buzas who was his partner in life for over 38 years at the time of his death. Pedro then furthered his education with a second Associate Degree in Biomedical Engineering from Owens and was a 1991 graduate of The University of Toledo with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology. Pedro had a successful career as a Product Design Engineer in Transmission Diagnostic Calibration at Ford Motor Company. In 2014, Pedro was one of three inventors granted a patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office on behalf of Ford Global Technologies, LLC, Dearborn, Michigan: Controlling a Transmission Skip Change Upshift (patent #8821344). Pedro was a faithful sports fan of all the Detroit teams. He enjoyed working outdoors and wore the title “Mr. Fix-It” bestowed upon him by his family with great pride. He was an exceptional cook and treasured breaking bread with family and friends. Pedro leaves to cherish his loving memory: Krista his wife of 34 years; children, Peter (Shannon) and Johannah; grandsons, Cruz and Asher; mother Maria (Davila) de Lujan; siblings, Jorge (Kiliana), Yajaira (Ramon) de Torres, Jose (Andrea), Yasmin (Larry) de Villarroel and Ana (Jose) de Quintero; brother-in-law Alonso Pargas; mother-in-law Leslie Zmyslo; extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father Pedro Ramon Lujan Daboin; sister Rosario de Pargas; father-in-law Dennis Zmyslo; Krista’s maternal grandparents Harold and Ruth (Tedrick) Albright and his beloved miniature poodle Chewy. Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey) on Thursday November 18, 2021 from 3-8 pm where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to The Victory Center at 5532 W.
