Pedro L. Cuevas, 80, of Elmore, Ohio, died Thursday morning, March 13, 2014, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born September 9, 1933, in Mercedes, Texas, to Bernabe and Hilaria Lopez Cuevas. Pedro married Betty Todd in Monroe, Michigan, on April 15, 1960, and she survives. Pedro worked and retired as an owner/operator truck driver for Cimarron Express of Genoa. Prior to that he worked for Road West Trucking Co. of California, Woodville Lime & Chemical of Woodville, Ohio, and the Ottawa Basket Factory in Elmore. His favorite hobbies were being with his family and puttering around the barn. In addition to his wife, Betty, Pedro is survived by his children, Jeff Rhonda Cuevas, Mike Jessica Cuevas, Sheri George Hayes, Jeannie Steve Harder, and Deborah Maynard; 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; and sisters, Marie Joe Urbina and Trinidad Lancho Jaramillo. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughters, Leslie Kay Maynard and Connie Ann Maynard, and brother and sister-in-law, Juan and Lupe Cuevas. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, March 17, 2014, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. The family has suggested memorials for Pedro to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551; or the donors choice.
