Pearlie Mae Martell, 83, of Perrysburg, Ohio, left this life to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 in Bay Park Hospital with her family by her side. She was born in Greers Chapel, Tennessee on May 27, 1928 to Bertha and Charlie Brooks. In 1950 she married Fred Martell and together they had 3 children. Pearl was a loving Mother who raised her 3 children alone, after her husband’s passing in 1965. She also took in her nieces and nephew several times as they were growing up. Her family meant the world to her. She enjoyed singing and playing piano in church and listening to Gaither’s Music. She attended the Free Will Baptist Church in Maumee. Pearl is survived by children, Terry (Patricia) Martell, Gary Martell and Sheila (Ova) Hackler; grandchildren, Shawn, Chad, Ryan, James, Leslie, Michelle (JJ) Francis, Ashley (Chris) Hofbauer and 7 great-grandchildren, Abigail, Johnathan Terry, Justin, Jayden, Landen, Braylen and Jacob, “WE LOVE YOU BIG”. She is also survived by siblings, Beulah Nunn, Doris England and Howard Brooks and preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother, Ray Brooks. Friends and family will be received Friday, July, 1, 2011 from 4 to 7 P.M. in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E.S. Boundary St. Perrysburg, OH. 43551 (419-874-3133) where funeral services will be held following the visitation at 7 P.M. Burial will be in Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a charity of their choice.
