Paulina Rodriguez Vargas

Paulina Rodriguez Vargas, 94, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Monday, July 31, 2017at Stein Hospice Care, Sandusky, OH.. Paulina was born on June 23, 1923 in McAllen, TX, the daughter of Emilio and Elifonsa (Torrez) Rodriguez. On February 17, 1950 in Texas, she married Ramon Vargas and he preceded her in death on November 25, 2007. She worked at the U.S. Gypsum Co. for 35 years and at the Fairfield Inn after her retirement. Paulina was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, OH. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting and knitting. But her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Paulina will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Those left to cherish her memory are: Children: Pauline (Roberto) Gonzales, Rosalinda Lucero, Ramon Vargas, Maria Alicia Greear and Alfredo Vargas; Daughter-in-Law: Robin Vargas; 22 Grandchildren; 67 Great-Grandchildren; 30 Great-Great Grandchildren; Siblings: Alberto, Nahun, Maria Socorro and Rene. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings: Antonia, Matilde, Micaela (Simon Tamez), Roman, Isabel (Evaristo Ramierez), Felix, Victoria (Marcelo Cortez) and Emilio (Gloria Rodriguez), sons-in-law: Bill Greear and Fernando Lucero. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8PM, Sunday, August 06, 2017 at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH, followed by prayers at 9:00AM, Monday, August 07, in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted by Father Jim Brown at 9:30AM, Monday, August 07, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison St., Port Clinton, OH 43452. Interment will be in Christy Chapel Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial contributions may be given to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
