Paulette E Slone

Paulette E. Slone 69, passed away Sunday November 22, 2015, in her Walbridge home. She was born on May 25, 1946 in Charleston, West Virginia to James and Lorene (Adkins) Nelson. She married Butch Slone on June 19, 1962 in Logan, West Virginia. Paulette and Butch were married for 53 years. They settled in Walbridge in the mid-1960’s where they became a big part of the community. She worked several years at Blanton’s Carry-Out. She helped co-manage the Rail Bar with her husband Butch, where she was active in the creation of and served many years as an officer in the Tri-County Pool League. She was the heartbeat of Walbridge Festival Committee in its early years and the creator of Walbridge Spooktacular. She enjoyed many activities with family and friends including hunting trips up north, where she would put the boys to shame with her marksmanship. She enjoyed organizing motorcycle runs, many of them cross country. What she really enjoyed was spending time with family, especially camping, where she could spend time doting on all around her. She was a very unique and heartwarming person who always gave more than she allowed herself to receive. She will be dearly missed by many, leaving behind: loving husband Tivis “Butch” Slone Jr.; daughter Catherine Slone; son Tivis Slone III; grandson Jacob (Victoria) Slone; granddaughter Taylor Slone; great-granddaughter Olivia Holder; brothers Larry, Lanny, Leslie, David (Mary), Jerry, Brian (Toni), James (Allison) Nelson, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Lorene (Adkins) Nelson, and her step-father Jack Park. Friends will be received on Sunday, November 29, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 N. Main Street, Walbridge, Ohio (419-666-3121). A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
