Paula Ann Ohanesian, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Ebeid Hospice Residence. Paula was born June 16, 1937 to Pierre and Pauline Petres in Fairmont, WV. She moved to Toledo when she was six years old and attended St. Agnes Grade School and Central Catholic High School. After graduating, Paula began working as a secretary at Blue Cross and Blue Shield where she met her future husband, Jack Stewart. After beginning their family, Jack developed polio and Paula assumed the role of breadwinner while also raising her three children. Jack worked on gaining his strength in rehab and began a job with the City of Toledo while Paula fulfilled all roles at the household. She was the plumber, the electrician, the disciplinarian, and the comforter. Paula later worked at the University of Toledo Center for Women. She was passionate about advocating for women’s rights and equality in the workplace. Paula is survived by her children, Brenda (Stephen) Barry, J.P. (Debbie) Stewart, and Sean (Tina) Stewart; grandchildren, D.J. (Mandy) Butler, Erin (Justin) Abston, and Dr. Colten (Meleana) Stewart, Sydney Parker May Day; great-grandchildren: Kyle, Noah, Devin, and Mya; and sister, Brenda (Paul) Rahman. She was preceded in death by husbands, Jack Stewart and John Ohanesian; sister, Rose (Robert) Heindel; and her parents. Visitation will be at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) on Friday, March 26, 2020 from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 8:00 pm and on Saturday, March 27th from 11:00 am until noon. A graveside service will follow on Saturday at 12:30 pm at Restlawn Cemetery, 3665 Genoa Rd. Perrysburg, OH.
