Paul Lawrence Yutzy

Paul Lawrence Yutzy, age 81, of Toledo passed away Saturday, July 03, 2010 in the Swan Creek Care Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 16, 1929 in Toledo to Anthony E. and Martha Burkett Yutzy. Paul received his Bachelors of Theology from Anderson University and his Masters in Social Work from Wayne State University. He was a minister at a variety of churches in Maumee, OH, Toledo, OH, Wilmette, IL, Marshall, MI, Detroit, MI, Napoleon, OH, Willard, OH, Mt Clemens, MI and Wheeling, WVA. Paul served as Executive Director of Lucas County Family Services from 1969-1974, in a similar position in Rochester, New York from 1974-1977 and Director of the Wood County Mental Health Clinic from 1977-1988. He was active in the Kiwanis Club, Falcon Club, and Exchange Club in Bowling Green, OH. An avid outdoorsman, Paul enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved music and performed with a Gospel Quartet while attending Anderson University. A loving husband, father, grandfather, minister and social worker, Paul will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joyce Thompson Yutzy whom he married August 5, 1949; sons, Philip Yutzy and Mark Kathryn Yutzy; daughter, Kathleen Thomas Wonus; and 7 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brother, James Yutzy and sister, Joanne Yutzy Fry. Family and friends may gather Tuesday, July 6, 2010 from 5-8 pm in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 11:00 am in First Presbyterian Church, 200 East Broadway Street, Maumee, OH 43537.
