Paul William Tovey

Paul William Tovey, age 91, passed away Friday, April 24, 2009 at Foundation Park Care Center. He was born on September 15, 1917 in Toledo to Harry and Florence Meeker Tovey. He served in the United States Marine Corp during WW II and then returned to Toledo where he began his career at The Blade as a copy boy until retiring as Advertising Director in 1979. Paul was a former lay minister at Monroe Street United Methodist Church. He always enjoyed a good game of golf. Paul is survived by his daughters, Janice William Roberts and Karen Richard Vollmer; brother, Duane Cleo Tovey; grandchildren, James and Paul Roberts and Emily and Joel Vollmer. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his wife Echo Royal and three sisters and one brother. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-9:00 pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. where services will be held on Thursday at 11 am. Memorial contributions may be made to Monroe Street United Methodist Church, Alzheimers Association or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
