Paul Morris Tait, 76, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018. Paul was born in Toledo, Ohio in 1942 to Paul Reid Tait and Lucy Richardson Rudderow Tait. Paul attended McKinley Elementary School and DeVilbiss High School in Toledo and was active at St Mark’s Episcopal Church. After graduating from the Miami University School of Business, Paul held several Human Resources Management positions with Owens-Illinois. Upon his retirement he served as a consultant to several organizations. Paul was a faithful member of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Perrysburg for over 40 years where his roles included Eucharistic Minister, Senior Warden, and Pastor Search Committee Member. Paul was a long-time Black Swamp Conservancy member and Past President. He also remained active with the Miami University Alumni Association. Paul joined the Boy Scouts in 1951 at McKinley School and awards included the God & Country Award, 1956 DeVilbiss High School Outstanding Eagle Scout and National Order of the Arrow Conclave at the University of Kansas, where he was honored by President Harry Truman. Paul served as Camp Miakonda summer staff and was a Silver Award recipient. Recent roles included Erie Shores Council Executive and Advisory Boards and recipient of the Silver Beaver Award for distinguished service. Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, John Reid Tait. Paul is survived by his significant other and best friend, Dottie Wilkerson and her family; his daughters, Elizabeth (Ralph Leech) of Worthington, Ohio and Amy Parmi (John) of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Justin, Jessica, Nick, and Addison; and nieces, Gretchen Bjornstad and Mary Tait and their families. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, November 30, 2018 beginning at 3:00 at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 871 E. Boundary Street, Perrysburg, with interment in the church memorial garden. Friends will be received before the service beginning at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Timothy’s church, the Erie Shores Council BSA or the Black Swamp Conservancy. Arrangements were entrusted to Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Perrysburg (419-874-3133).
