Paul W Sontchi

PAUL W. SONTCHI Paul W. Sontchi, 74, of Edgerton, OH and formerly of Toledo died, Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born in Kendallville, IN on December 29, 1939 to Luther and Alice (Knepper) Sontchi and was married on June 2, 1962 to Joyce A. Mack, who preceded him in death on April 16, 2005. Paul was a 1957 graduate of Wawaka High School in Wawaka, IN and had an Associate Degree from the University of Toledo. Paul served from 1958 to 1962 in the U.S. Army, stationed in both San Francisco and Okinawa and then was in the Army Reserve until 1964. He worked from 1964 until 1990 as a Toledo police officer, retiring as a detective in 1990. He is survived by his sons, Joseph P. (Shari) Sontchi of Maumee and Christopher A. (Lisa) Sontchi of Concord, NC; grandchildren, Rachel, Kyle, and Lauren Sontchi; sister, Imogene (Hubert) Tucker of Marion, IN. Friends will be received after 10:00 A.M. on Monday, April 21, 2014 in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, OH (419-874-3133) where funeral services will begin at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Herbert Weber officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
