Paul Edward “Dutch” Schultz, 87, of Port Clinton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2023 after an extended illness, at Countryside Manor in Fremont, Ohio. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 13, 1935, the son of Edward K. and Ethel A. (Kasch) Schultz.
Dutch was a plant manager for the GM Toledo Transmission Plant for over 30 years, retiring in the late 1980’s. He devoted his life to his love of Lake Erie and all it has to offer and the craft of Free Masonry. He devoted many years to the Masonic Order starting with the Sylvania Pyramid Lodge where he served as Master, Oliver H. Perry Lodge, serving two terms as Master, the Oak Harbor Lodge, the Fort Meigs Chapter and the Port Clinton Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.
Dutch is survived by his daughter, Kathy Schultz, son, James (Barbara) Schultz, grandchildren, James Radcliffe, Steven Gospodarek, Jenelle Hartman, Jessica Schultz and April Kastel, four great-grandchildren, and brother, Don (Carol) Schultz. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughters, Laura Schultz and Carol Radcliffe.
Visitation for Dutch will be held from 6:00-7:00 PM, Tuesday, May 9, 2023 followed by a Masonic Service at 7:00 PM in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton, Ohio. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery, Sylvania, Ohio. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 3229 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45229.
