Paul G. Roberts

Roberts Paul Gordon Paul Gordon Roberts, age 83, died at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania, OH on Friday, March 26, 2010. Paul was born June 19, 1926 in Princeton, MI to Samuel and Anne Roberts as the youngest of their ten children. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and graduated from the Michigan Technological University in 1949 with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Paul married Gladys Karasti on August 16, 1947 in Gwinn, MI. His engineering career with the Ford Motor Company began in 1952. He remained with Ford for 35 years retiring in 1987. Paul was a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers. He enjoyed his retirement years at Long Lake in Hillman, MI and in Venice, FL. Paul practiced a life where his love of God, family, and others were his primary focus. Paul taught his family and friends to appreciate the natural resources and beauty that Michigan offers and he continued to respect those gifts from God throughout his lifetime. He is survived by his wife, Gladys M. Roberts; daughters, Geraldine Roberts-Moore Thomas, Gladeen Roberts-Margraf David, and Paula Roberts Buchele; sons, Daniel P. and David G. Roberts Laurie; sister, Doris Roberts Pearson; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The Paul Roberts family gives special thanks to the nursing staff at the Goerlich Center and ProMedica Ebeid Hospice Residence for their loving care of Paul. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-8:00pm and Monday from 1-3:00pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd.. A Funeral Mass will follow on Monday at 4:00pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maumee, 104 Broadway St., Maumee, OH 43537. Interment will be in Venice, FL.
