Paul Marcus Roach, 87, of Lindsey, OH passed away early Friday, May 5, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 2, 1935 in Toledo, OH to Russell Ivo and Myrtle (Snyder) Roach. On October 10, 1953 in Fremont, OH he married the love of his life, Nancy Ellen Smith, who he met in 2nd grade at Lindsey Schools and eventually dated in their high school years. He always enjoyed Nancy’s cooking. Paul worked for General Motors/New Departure in Sandusky, OH for 41 years, retiring in 1993. After retirement, worked for the Village of Lindsey for 15 years helping with maintenance, serving as the Village Administrator for a few years, and also as a member of the Tree Commission. Paul loved to stay busy and was a real working man, always tinkering in his garage. He also ran a small engine repair business and kept the neighborhood lawnmowers running in town for those needing his help. Paul loved watching high school football, especially when his sons played, and was a big fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes football too. He enjoyed being outside, going fishing with family and feeding the critters around his house, especially the squirrels. His family is going to miss his griping and cantankerous personality, which was entertaining at times to say the least. Paul was a family man at heart, and dearly enjoyed his grandchildren.
In addition to his loving wife of 70 years, Nancy, Paul is survived by his children, Mike (Margie) Roach, Sr., Tony (Kelli) Roach, Paula Zimmerman, Lori (Gerry) Kaselak, and Wendy (Jeff) Null, daughter-in-law, Sherry Roach, grandchildren, Marie Reiselt, Mike (Kelly) Roach, Jr., Brandon (Angie) Roach, Jillian Roach, Seth Roach, Tabitha (T.J.) Shilling, Zach (Thomas) Zimmerman, Katherine (Tyler) Smith, and Thomas Null, and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Rick Roach, brother, Gordon Roach, sister, Shirley Marsh, half-sister, Naomi Wise, and his beloved golden retriever, Buddy.
