Paul R. Retzke

Retzke Paul Rathbun Paul Rathbun Retzke, age 70, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2008, on his 32nd wedding anniversary, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. Paul was born to Paul G. Retzke, Jr. and Dorothy Rathbun Retzke on September 2, 1937 in Toledo, OH. A veteran of the US Army, Paul worked as a certified mechanic for the City of Toledo where he especially enjoyed working on city choppers and police motorcycles. Paul was a dedicated member of AA and celebrated over 32 years of sober living. He and his wife Barbara sang together in the Toledo Choral Society under the direction of Sam Szor. Paul was a miniature train enthusiast and collected model motorcycles with special interest in the Indian Brand cycles. Paul was a longtime member of Memorial Lutheran Church. Paul is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Corry Retzke and Corlissa Larsen; stepchildren, Catherine Clyde Appleby, and Lee and Mark Karen Pioch; 16 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Roger Ruth Retzke; and sister, Julia Bob Ehlers. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-son, David Pioch. Visitation will be on Saturday from 2-4:00pm at the Walker funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey rd. where funeral services will follow at 4:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Lutheran Church, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, or the Toledo Humane Society.
