Paul J. Morris

Paul J. Morris age 75 of Marietta, Ohio formerly of Sylvania entered into eternal life on November 5, 2014. He was born December 5, 1938 in Fenwick, West Virginia to Paul and Mary Morris.  After graduation from high school he served in the US Air Force from 1956-1960 and the Air Force Reserve from 1960-62.  After his military service, he was employed by Bell Laboratories in Columbus from 1960-64.  He then went to work for Owens Corning Fiberglas in Newark, Ohio as Data Processing Manager from 1964-66.  He transferred to the Toledo Headquarters of Owens-Corning in 1966 where he remained until 1976 as the Manager of Information Systems for the construction group.  He became business manager for St. Josephs Catholic Church in Maumee in 1977 and was ordained a permanent deacon of the Diocese of Toledo in 1980.  He retired from St. Josephs Church in 2004 to be a  caregiver for his wife, Cookie.  Paul enjoyed flying and music.  He was a licensed commercial pilot with flight instructor instrument ratings. Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years Takeko Cookie Morris; sister Barb Beach; and brother Jimmy Morris. He is survived by his son Eric (Deborah) Morris; brothers Mike (Robin) Morris and Bill (Suzanne) Morris; sister Sandy (Bill) Maple; many extended family members and special friends and parishioners  at St. Joseph Church. Friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home 501 Conant St., Maumee on Sunday, November 9, 2014 from 3-8 PM where a Scripture Service will be held at 7 PM.  Visitation will continue on Monday, November 10, 2014 from 10-11 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Maumee where a Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM with interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.  The family suggests memorials to the Toledo Humane Society or St. Josephs Church.  Condolences may be sent to the family at walkerfuneralhomes.com
