Paul G. Katz

Paul G. Katz, age 88 of Toledo passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018 at his home. He was born July 8, 1929 in Toledo to Gottlieb and Mary (Engli) Katz. He was a 1947 graduate of Libbey High School and a 1952 graduate of the University of Toledo. Paul was a US Army veteran of the Korean War serving from 1952-1954. He retired as Payroll Supervisor at Libbey Glass in 1995 after 40 years of service. An avid University of Toledo fan, he was a member of the Downtown Coaches Alumni Association and enjoyed attending football and basketball games. An active member of the Toledo Zoo he was well known among all the employees. Paul was preceded in death by his wife Carole; daughter Jennifer Weaver; and sister Mary Katherine Cykman. Surviving are daughters Elizabeth (Dwight) McBride and Kristine Katz (Kathy); son Eric Katz; grandchildren Bradley, Michael and Zachary; and a great-grandchild Zachary. There will be no visitation and services will be private. The family suggests memorials to The Toledo Zoo, 2 Hippo Way Toledo, Ohio 43609.
