Paul E. Fournier

Paul E. Fournier, 79, quietly passed September 1, 2011 at Toledo Hospital surrounded by his family and friends. Paul was born February 10, 1932 in Waterbury, CT to Leo and Regina Michaud Fournier. He served four years in the US Navy before returning home to marry Denise Bessette in 1953. Paul retired as plant manager for the Sam C. Earley Corp. in Toledo, Ohio. He was a longtime member of Barton-Smith Lodge 613 F & AM serving on the Fellowcraft Team and Standing Committee. He participated in many reunions with the Scottish Rite-Valley of Toledo and served as director emeritus of the Zenobia Shrine Dramatic Cast. He was a life member and past commander of VFW Post 7330 in Oakville, CT. Paul, an intelligent and a skilled communicator, was always straightforward and honest. He will be remembered for his big-heart and loyalty to his family and friends. In his free-time, he enjoyed watching football and playing pool, bowling and golf. Paul is survived by his loving wife, Denise; children, Bruce E. Rita Fournier, Lynn F. Ken Zuercher, Karen A. William Flahie, and Keith A. Diane Fournier; grandchildren, Jillian, Stephanie Ben, Andrew Diane, Elizabeth, Brian, and Justin; great-grandson, Parker; brothers, J. Andre Yolanda and Richard Nita Fournier, and family friend, Greg Covucci. He was preceded in death by his brother, Victor Fournier; sister, Claire Fournier; and granddaughters, Michelle and Sarah Flahie. Visitation will be at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 from 2:00 to 6:30 pm and will conclude with Masonic Services at 6:30 pm. Private interment will be at the Toledo Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
