Paul F. Dymarkowski, 69, of Sylvania, died peacefully surrounded by his family at Regency Hospital on Tuesday, July 10, 2012. He was born July 28, 1942 in Toledo to Andrew and Sophie Dymarkowski. Paul grew up in Toledos Polish Kuschwantz neighborhood and attended St. Hyacinth Elementary School during which time he began caddying at Inverness Club to earn money to pay for tuition at Central Catholic High School. While there, Paul met his future wife, Frances DiLorenzo, where he literally knocked her off her feet while running out of bounds. He was also proud to have played football in the first Central-St. Francis game. Following graduation he attended Adrian College where he played football before returning to the University of Toledo and earning his Associates Degree. He then began his professional career as a purchasing manager at Craft Master. He then worked as a purchasing and materials manager at Sheller-Globe, Glasstech, and most recently at Harmon Sign. One of the accomplishments he was most proud of was that he invented and patented a yard waste liquefier in the 1990s. While working full time and raising a family, he returned to college and earned his Bachelors Degree at Sienna Heights College in his 30s. He was a huge Notre Dame football and avid sports fan. Paul coached CYO basketball and football at St. Hyacinth, St. Jude and Christ the King for a total of 21 years. He was very proud of the kids he coached and felt he was a positive influence in their lives. Some of his most meaningful memories were coaching his sons and later coaching with his sons. Paul was very proud of his Polish heritage and Polish traditions. He passed along many of those traditions to his children and grandchildren. Family was first in his life. He also loved people and was very active in the community. He was Past President of the Toledo Chapter of the Alliance of Poles Circle 8. He was a member of the Toledo Elks Lodge #53, Past President of CYO and the Holy Name Society, a member of St. Francis Knights of the Round Table and Christ the King Catholic Church where he was involved in many groups and was past Festival Chairman. Paul always kept in contact with people from his entire life and loved to organize get-togethers and reunions. Recently, he helped organized the 50th reunion of the caddies from the 1957 US Open. He was well known for remembering dates and events of any kind and keeping his daily and weekly routines. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 48 years; sons, Doug Dymarkowski Brenda Hartley, Paul Dymarkowski Charlotte, daughter Lynn Breen Dan; grandchildren, Danny who is currently serving in Afghanistan and Mandy Dymarkowski, Drew and Delanie Dymarkowski and Natalie and Molly Breen; sisters, Nancy Rosen Sheldon, Annette Birney Pat, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Natalie Reed. The family will receive friends on Friday from 3-8PM at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. Funeral services will begin with prayers at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:15AM followed by the Funeral Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4100 Harvest Lane Toledo, OH 43623 at 11AM.
