Paul “PJ” Colston, 49, of Salem, Oregon, and formerly of Port Clinton, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at the Cleveland Clinic after a courageous battle with Alpha-1 liver disease. PJ was born October 3, 1966, in Port Clinton. On August 3, 2002, he married Anna Jean Saavedra in Albany, Oregon, and she survives. PJ was a project manager for United Technologies Corp. for the past five years. He was a loving husband and father. PJ enjoyed sports and especially basketball and golf. He was inducted into the Port Clinton High School Hall of Fame and is the PCHS basketball all-time leading scorer. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Left to cherish his memory: loving wife, Anna Colston; step daughter, Jasmine (Andy Simmer) Saavedra; granddaughter, Isabella Simmer; mother, Judy (Ned) Mull; father, Calvin (Diane) Colston; brothers, Tracy (Terri) Colston and Tim (Cheryl) Colston; nieces and nephews, Derek and Cory Colston, McKenzie and Andrew Colston, and Jessica Renner. Visitation will be from 12-4 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2016, at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton, followed by a funeral service conducted by Reverend Chuck Campbell at 4:00 p.m. Memorial donations for PJ may be given to Port Clinton Athletic Boosters.
