Paul G. Brendlen

Paul G. Brendlen age 94 of Maumee passed away Monday, August 22, 2011 in his home. He was born July 2, 1917 in Toledo to Alfonse and Eugenia Brendlen. He and his late wife Anne were the proprietors of the former LaNan Salon of Beauty in Maumee for many years retiring in 1979. He also was employed with the Maumee School System as a bus driver and custodian. An army veteran of World War II serving in the 13th Airborne Division, Paul was a member of St. Josephs Church, Maumee, the Knights of Columbus and the Maumee American Legion. He loved the outdoors and hunting and was an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his wife Anne Brendlen. He is survived by his daughter Nanette Robert Contat; grandson Corey Contat; niece Marge Wertz; nephew Damien Pfleghaar; and dear friend Sherrill Sattler. There will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be held Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 11 AM in St. Josephs Church, Maumee. Interment will be private. The family suggests memorials to St. Joseph Council 11370 of the Knights of Columbus, c/o St. Joseph Church 108 W. Broadway Maumee, Ohio 43537.
