Paul L. Ankenbrandt, age 52, passed away on October 13, 2012 at home in the presence of his loving family. Paul was born to Joseph T. Tommy and Dorothy Scott Ankenbrandt on July 6, 1960 in Toledo, Ohio and was a lifetime resident of Maumee. A 1978 graduate of Maumee High School, Paul joked about his life aspirations of being a beach bum! Instead, he continued his education at Owens Technical College, where he graduated in 1982, and began working with Farthing Masonry in Maumee. Paul continued his employment with Farthing Masonry for over thirty years, spending every day working aside his cousin, nephew, and second family, the Farthings. When not operating a bobcat or digging out a basement, Paul could be found reading one of his countless sci-fi or history books and always with a glass or gallon of milk and a package of Oreo cookies within his reach. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed a good discussion about history, both world history and family anecdotes, and possessed a wealth of knowledge about what seemed like everything! Paul was one of the kindest and most generous people in the world and his door and woodshop was always open for whoever wanted to stop in. As his good friend once said, If the world was full of Pauls, what an awesome place this would be. Paul is survived by his mother, Dorothy; three brothers: Mark Cheryl, John Terry, and Gary; Nieces and Nephews: Jamie Anthony Tscherne, Joel Pam, Justin Shayla, Collin, Daniel, Sarah, Noah, Rachel, and Emily; Great-Nieces and Nephews: Allie, Porter, and Norah; and numerous friends. Paul was preceded in death by his father, Joseph; and Grandparents. Family and friends are welcome to celebrate the life of Paul Ankenbrandt on Wednesday October 17, 2012 from 1:00-9:00 p.m. at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, Maumee, Ohio where there will be a scripture/celebration of life service at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Online condolences may be given at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com
