Patrick Michael Sullivan

Patrick Michael Sullivan, age 46, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2022 in Charleston, South Carolina surrounded by his loving family. Patrick was born on June 5, 1975 in Toledo, Ohio and attended St. Joan of Arc Elementary School, Central Catholic High School and University of Cincinnati.

Patrick’s love for people and his gift of gab led him into a lifelong career in the hospitality industry, managing several bar and restaurant establishments in the Toledo area and collecting countless friends along the way.  Patrick was also a licensed nursing assistant, allowing him to do what he did best- care for others.

Patrick eventually relocated to Folly Beach, South Carolina, where he discovered his love for the smalltown island life. Patrick never met a stranger, only friends he hadn’t made yet. He always had a kind word for everyone and was as warm-hearted and quick witted as they come, forever smiling and laughing. Patrick’s pride and joy in life was his son, Hunter, alongside his favorite pup, Moses.

Patrick is survived by his one and only son, Hunter Smith; father, Jerry; stepmother, Candy Baker; stepfather, Craig Ortale; sister, Meghan; nephew, Leaf; grandmother, Coco; and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Nancy, who was always one of his best friends, who he inherited his talent for gourmet cooking from and lovingly cared for during her illness.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you think of Patrick as you say a kind word to a stranger, lend a helping hand to someone in need, and generously overtip your service staff.

Family and friends may gather on Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 12:00 noon with a memorial service planned for 5:00 pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.). Pastor Brandon Baker will officiate. Online condolences may by shared at walkerfuneralhomes.com.
