Patricia Lou Smith

Patricia Lou Smith, 75, of Port Clinton, OH, went to heaven on March 20, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 17, 1933 in Staunton, IL to Emerald and Jewel Gruner Ullman. On July 31, 1987 in Port Clinton, OH she married Thomas C. Carl Smith. Patricia was a member of the David E. Leonard Aerie #2295, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and Elks Lodge #1718, all of Port Clinton. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton. Patricia enjoyed cooking and flowers. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed taking care of them. Survivors include: husband: Thomas C. Carl Smith of Port Clinton; sons: Frank Mark Hopke Arico of Flint, MI, Alan Sue Arico of Naperville, IL, Gary Patti Arico of Mason, OH, Dale Christy Elmes of Port Clinton; step-children: Debra Ed Daniels of Oberlin, OH, Susan Smith of Oberlin, OH, Amy Smith Mark Criley of Normal, IL, Mark Smith of Westerville, OH; 20 grandchildren; adopted children: Jim Piorunek, Matt Moore; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers: Emerald Peggy Ullman, Dave Jeanie Ullman; sister: Carolyn Thompson; former husband: Anthony Arico. Patricia was preceded in death by her: parents, former husband: Al Elmes; sisters: Wanda White, Gladys Murray; grand-daughter: Jane Arico. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm, Sunday, March 22, 2009 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. James Lehman at 11:00 am, Monday, March 23, 2009 in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions in honor and memory of Patricia be made to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
