Patricia Ruth Nagel Netz was born on October 7, 1930 and changed residency to Heaven on July 31, 2024. Celebration of Life at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Elmore, OH at 2pm on August 4, 2024. Private graveside service at Fort Meigs Cemetery. Patricia was born to Ruth and Paul Nagel. Her siblings were Paul Fairchild, married to wife Bonnie, and Susan Marie, who was married to husband Mike Fulton.
Patricia was a graduate of Libbey High School and the University of Toledo. She was married in 1950 to Robert Morlan Netz of Perrysburg, Ohio (deceased in 2018.) Pat taught school for many years at Harris Elmore Elementary School and Woodmore Middle School. Her hobbies were singing, reading, hunting, skiing, boating, biking, painting, and writing poetry, which was published. Her favorite time was when family gathered. Pat’s grandkids remember her for the photo albums she created for each, which documented their growth, as well as fun times spent at the lake together.
She was president of the women’s club, taught Sunday School and VBS, sang in the choir at United Church of Christ in Elmore, Ohio, and served her church in other ways as well. Both she and Bob were also very involved with Fairview Missionary Church in Angola, Indiana, where they lived after retirement.
Pat and Bob had three children Nancy (husband Ted Haenlein), Mike (wife Laurie Netz), and Tom (fiancé Brenda Duke). She is survived by Nancy, Laurie, and Tom as well as grandchildren: Joshua Haenlein (Cheryl), Peter Haenlein (Jessica), Christianna Drum (Clay), Ashley Netz, Amber Pascual (Jorge), Samantha Netz (Jeremy Myers), Brant Netz (Viviana), and Leslie Bowen. Also surviving are nephews John Fulton with wife Cheryl and Steve Fulton.
Pat was always very proud of all her great grandchildren as follows: Millie and Ethan Haenlein, J.J., Nicole, Emma, and Bob Haenlein, Mya, Abraham, and Zane Hassan.
Pat lived and loved with an open heart. Her and Bob’s home was always open to family, friends, and pets. Her years serving the community and church are a testament to their belief in service and relying on the Lord in their lives. Their homes at the lake in Indiana are fondly remembered by all the family as gathering places for making memories. Mom and Dad are greatly missed but their legacy lives on in family.
