Patricia Kwiatkowski

Patricia Jeanne (Hipp) Kwiatkowski, age 79, of Whitehouse, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 28, 2022. She was born on March 29, 1943, in Toledo to Jerome and Thelma (Smith) Hipp. Pat graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1961 and Mary Manse College in 1966 with a degree in education.

Pat loved to teach and was beloved by all her students. She started her career at Christ the King teaching history but ended up falling in love with science. Her teaching career moved her from St. Joseph Maumee to Blessed Sacrament, and finally, to Central Catholic High School, where she retired in 1994.

Pat married the love of her life, Donald, in 1967 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Toledo. On November 11 of this year, they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. Together, they raised four children: Scott, Greg, Tim, and Deanna. Pat loved to travel and visited every state, except for Hawaii. Over the years she enjoyed a multitude of hobbies including crocheting, sewing, cooking, basketweaving, and baking. She also tried her hand at bowling and golf. She further shared her knowledge of history by volunteering at the Wolcott House in Maumee. Pat cherished her close group of friends and loved the many trips, activities, and card parties they engaged in. Pat was an avid shopper and was always impeccably dressed. Her love of Talbots was well known by all. Also well-known was her sweet tooth; she loved chocolate, especially her fudge stripe cookies.

Pat is survived by her devoted husband, Donald E. Kwiatkowski; her children D. Scott (Monique) Kwiatkowski, Gregory M. Kwiatkowski, Timothy J. Kwiatkowski, Deanna E. (Matthew) Olsen, and her eleven grandchildren: Grace, Jack, Gunner, Brianne, Zachary, Olivia “Birdie,” Ethan, Lucy, Allison, Autumn, and Calli; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by both her parents; brother Frederick Hipp; sister-in-law Elizabeth (Skeldon) Hipp; and nephews Spencer and John Hipp.

The family would like to express gratitude to the wonderful staff and administration at Brookdale Senior Living Community, Bowling Green, and Bridge Hospice for their care and dedication to Patricia.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 from 9:30-10:30 A.M. at St Joseph Catholic Church (104 W Broadway St Maumee, OH 43537), with a funeral mass following at 10:30 A.M. Internment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Pat’s honor may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
