Patricia A. Kurek

Patricia A. Kurek, age 89, formerly of Toledo, died February 21, 2017 at Riverview Health Care in Oak Harbor. She was born August 19, 1927 in Toledo to the late Frederick and Bernice (Hixon) Eichenlaub. She graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1945. Patricia was a homemaker and had worked at several offices, including in the Biology Dept. at the University of Toledo. She enjoyed traveling, flowers and especially caring for her grandchildren. Patricia was a caring and gentle soul who always placed the needs of her family above her own. Surviving are her daughters, Kimm Beggs and Amy (Steve) Holben; grandchildren, Lindsey and Michael DeGrisky, Ashley, Tyler and Brandon Holben. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alphonse; step mother, Helen Eichenlaub; brothers, Fred and Raymond Eichenlaub; and a son in infancy. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 27, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 12:00 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.). Interment will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Stein Hospice or Streetlights Student Ministry at McCord Road Christian Church.
