Patricia Kaspar

November 2, 1950 — August 13, 2025

Patricia Lee Kaspar, 74, of Catawba Island, OH, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital in Cleveland, OH. She was born November 2, 1950, in Port Clinton, OH, to Leroy and Joyce (Boomer) Winklea. On January 5, 1973, in Port Clinton, she married Carl Kaspar, who survives.

Affectionately known as “Patsy Lee” or simply “Patsy,” she dedicated her life to caring for others. Patsy earned her R.N. degree from St. Vincent’s in Toledo and her B.S. from St. Francis in Illinois. Her nursing career spanned over 50 years, touching countless lives in roles including ICU nurse, charge nurse, labor & delivery nurse, correctional medicine, employee health, and pain management. She also volunteered her time at the hospital. Patsy had the distinction of serving as the first intensive care unit nurse at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton. Upon her passing, she was honored at Fairview Hospital with a Florence Nightingale Tribute as she was transferred from the premises—a fitting acknowledgment of a lifetime of compassion and service.

Patsy and Carl made their home in Colorado for 51 years before returning to Port Clinton. She was known for creating memorable and unusual foods—homemade noodles, hard candy, peanut brittle, and Christmas cookies—and for her love of needlepointing. She also enjoyed a well-made Crown Royal Manhattan. Her family will dearly miss her cooking, her sharp sense of humor, and her trademark sarcasm.

In addition to her loving husband of more than 52 years, Carl, Patsy is survived by her sons, Ryan (Shonda) Kaspar and Matthew (David) Kaspar; and grandchildren, Madalynne, Katy, and Delaney. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Patsy will be cremated under the care of Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor, OH. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor, OH.
