Patricia Lee Jackson, age 79, passed away on March 3, 2017 at Otterbein of Perrysburg. She was born in Port Huron, Michigan on October 27, 1937 to Harold and Margaret Bailey and was adopted into an orphanage from age 5 to age 21. Patricia grew to age 12 with a septal defect in her heart which was corrected in 1949 by open heart surgeon, Dr. Claude Beck. She was married several times but until she met and married Dr. Daniel Bruce Jackson, she never knew true love. Dr. Jackson taught medicine at Ohio State. A devoted mother, Patricia was a role-model for each of her children. She loved her children very much and was always a strong family caregiver, mother, and wife. Patricia was a garden club member in her youth and cherished those wonderful memories. She was also a gifted athlete participating competitively in many different sports. Patricia studied to be a professional model at the Patricia Stevens Modeling School in Toledo and modeled in New York City in the 1950’s. She also took modern dance lessons, ballroom dance lessons, piano lessons and played in recitals. Patricia was Summer Queen of Lenawee County Michigan. She worked as a certified Nurse’s Aide at a variety of hospitals and homes and later volunteered at St. Anns Hospital Lab. Her most recent job was as a caregiver for Home Senior Care in Toledo. Patricia enjoyed attending various activities and having lunch with friends at the Maumee Senior Center. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and of Grace United Methodist Church of Perrysburg. Patricia is survived by her children, Mary Lee Overy, James Popelik, Denise Marie and Richard Paren; grandchildren, Amanda Paren, Heather Popelik, and Kelsey Paren; great-grandson, Seth Taylor; and brothers, Robert (Pat) and Eddie Bailey. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. Daniel Bruce Jackson. Funeral services will be held at Grace United Methodist Church of Perrysburg, 601 E. Boundary Street, Perrysburg, OH, 43551 at 10 am on Saturday, March 11, 2017 with Pastor Dennis Ditto officiating. Private interment will take place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
