Patricia Ann Hofacker, 73, of Port Clinton, OH passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Stein Hospice Inpatient Unit, Sandusky, OH. She was born on October 25, 1947 in Saylersville, KY to Clayton and Ila (Trent) Stephens. On August 17, 1969 in Port Clinton she married Thomas E. Hofacker, and he preceded her in death on February 14, 2011. Pat was a dedicated teacher for Port Clinton City Schools for thirty-five years. She began teaching in 1969 teaching the fifth grade and then spent the next thirty-four years teaching the fourth grade. Pat, a talented artist and master gardener, believed in teaching to the whole child and especially enjoyed sharing her talents with her students through her arts and craft projects. She touched the lives of hundreds of children in Port Clinton. Pat retired in 2006. Pat was a loving mother who instilled in her daughter a passion for all things creative. Her daughter Katie is eternally grateful for the spark of creativity bestowed upon her by her mother. Oliver, Pat's grandson, said of his Grandma "She was such a nice person and always made me feel safe and protected." Pat will be deeply missed, but her memory will live within the many people whose lives she touched. Pat is survived by her daughter, Katie Hofacker; grandson, Oliver Klinker; sister, Kay Hofacker; nephews, Clayton, Jimmy, and Scott Hofacker; niece, Cindy Benney; great nieces, Rachelle and Jessica Hofacker; other great nieces & nephews; and brother-in-laws, Jim (Carol) Hofacker and Jack (Cassie) Hofacker. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and mother & father in laws, Catherine & Kenneth Hofacker. Private graveside services will be conducted for Pat with burial to follow in Roose Cemetery, Oak Harbor, OH. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in her memory may consider Stein Hospice, Sandusky, the Alzheimer’s Association, or the Friends of Ida Public Library, Port Clinton.
