Patricia Ann Gittinger, 69, of Lakeside-Marblehead, OH died Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky, OH. She was born on July 14, 1939 in Port Clinton, OH to William Henry and Ellen Bernadette Busack Stinson. On May 20, 1963 in Toledo, OH she married William Alfred Gittinger, and he survives. Patricia worked for the Department of the United States Army Civilian Marksmanship Program from 1992-2006. Prior to that she worked as a physicians assistant for Dr. Ritter and Dr. Crisologo and Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton 1970-1992, the Erie Army Depot in Port Clinton from 1961-1962, and for NASA in Cleveland, OH 1960-1961. Patricia was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, past member of the Board of Directors and served as president and vice-president of the Ambassadors for the Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce. Pat enjoyed reading, traveling, classical and patriotic music, spending time with her family, and her circle of friends including life-long best friends Jim and Joan Mason. In addition to her loving husband of 45 years, William, survivors include: daughters: Laurie Ellen Gittinger of Columbus, Georgia and Theresa Renee Scott Uhinck of Lakeside-Marblehead, OH; son: Scott William Gittinger of Beaumont, Texas; special friend: Tommy Williamson of Beaumont Texas; sister: Sr. Jeremias Stinson of Sylvania Franciscan Convent; and two grandchildren: Megan Elizabeth Uhinck and Eric Matthew Uhinck; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Kathleen Marie Kuzma. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Tuesday, October 14, 2008 , with family present from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father John Missler at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, beginning with prayers offered at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. Memorial contributions may be given to Stein Hospice, Sandusky, Sylvania Franciscan Convent, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, or the Lakeside Volunteer Fire Department, Lakeside, OH.
