Patricia Gerding

Patricia Loucille Gerding died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on April 5, 2024. Pat was born in Blairsville, Pennsylvania to Tom and Mary (Daubner) Nestich on July 15, 1932. One of eight children, Pat grew up knowing how to stretch her pennies. She had a feisty spirit that kept everyone on their toes.

Her 91 years were filled with Saturday shopping trips, attending craft shows, hours shopping on QVC, fun sleepovers with the grandchildren, and caring for her family. Her love of order and home décor set the stage for an immaculate home and a well-manicured lawn.

Her family will miss her dearly, yet her spirit lives on. Left to cherish her memory, her daughter, Cheryl Haupricht; grandchildren, Shawna Valiton, Trisha (Ben) Wolkins, Deanna (Dan) Schad, Ricky (Katelyn) Gerding; great-grandchildren, Andrew Valiton, Jake Valiton, Myles Wolkins, Maxwell Wolkins, Dorothy Schad, Daphne Schad, Cooper Gerding, Cameron Gerding; daughter-in-law Leslie Bialecki; sisters, Dolly Sasala, Terri (Larry) Sedlak, Judie (Dick) Birt, Jackie (Ozzy) Lay.

Preceding Pat in death, her parents; son, Rick Gerding; son-in-law, David Haupricht; siblings, Tom “Tommy” Nestich, Mary “Mamie” Vargo, Norma “Tootsie” Sattler.

The family will welcome visitors on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 4pm to 8 pm at the Walker Funeral Home (5155 W. Sylvania Ave.) with a sharing of memories beginning at 7 pm. A private interment will take place at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a contribution in Pat’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
